Retro Ride & Picnic 2012

Hey riders, it's almost picnic time again! I hope those old beauties are getting cleaned and dressed up. Let's get ready to show them off again.

The Retro Ride & Picnic 2012 will be held on Sunday, December 2, 2012, 12-3 pm, at Winfrey Point, White Rock Lake in Dallas. The address is 950 East Lawther Dr, Dallas, Texas 75218. Click here for a Google Map.

We'll fire the grill up at around 12:30 or so and start serving lunch around 1:00. We'll have door prizes at around 2:00, followed by a raffle for a Bianchi single speed frame supplied by Bianchi USA, then more fun with vintage bikes. We have to be out of the building by 3:00.

If you have bike stands please bring them to display the guests of honor. I have several extra stands and will bring them, but we can always use more. Also, the more cameras the better! I'll create a picnic album on the web site for everyone to enjoy.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a free event for people who love vintage bikes, and everyone is welcome. Anyone who brings a vintage bike is welcome to a free picnic lunch, which consists of beef or turkey hot dogs, chips, cold drinks, dessert and other goodies. This year our friends at Dublin Bottling Works will be there serving up their outstanding Retro and Vintage Sodas, along with a few other treats. We can also serve veggie hot dogs, but be sure to let us know so we can bring them. Or you can bring your own and we can grill them for you. Just let us know.

Anyone who would like to come and just admire the vintage bikes is welcome. However, if you don't bring a bike but still want to have lunch, we ask a donation to help offset the cost of putting on the event. Either way, please RSVP so we know how much food to bring! PLEASE RSVP right here, or on the Facebook page.

For our event, vintage bikes are those which were made before 1989. If you have a bike that you're not quite sure about or want make sure it qualifies, please email and ask.

If you've posted the picnic notice to a forum, please post a link to this page so anyone wanting updated information can get it.

ps. did I mention the door prizes???
